The Furaha Centre for the children with cerebral palsy and autism in Kenya was established in April 2016 on the initiative of Marek Krakus. From the very beginning it has been functioning thanks to the donations of the people of good will in Kenya and abroad. This is an incredible challenge to make sure that over 200 children from the Centre will get their therapy and food every day. The Furaha Centre is developing very fast. That is why our financial challenges are growing too. At the beginning the Centre registered as the Community Based Organisation did not have any stable support or sponsors.
That is why in September 2018, Marek came up with the idea of going to Poland – his home country in order to look for people with big hearts who would be ready to become involved in the development of the Furaha Centre.
Marek’s dream was also to establish the Polish Foundation, which would support the actions taken by the Furaha Centre in Kenya and help
the children with cerebral palsy in his home country.
„It has been only 3 months since I met Piotr Pacyga, the co-founder of the DuoLife Company for the first time on the 13th October 2018 during the Business Development Seminars in the city of Częstochowa (Poland). However, a lot of amazing things have happened“ – Marek says.
Already on the 13th November 2018 in Kraków the Help Furaha Foundation Notarial Deed was signed. The Foundation’s goal is to help disabled people, especially the children suffering from cerebral palsy and autism in Poland and abroad, especially in Kenya.
A few days after I had left Poland, on the 17th November 2018 during the Leadership Development Seminars in Częstochowa (the same place where Marek had met Piotr Pacyga for the first time) the first money collection campaign took place in order to support the Centre in Meru. It was initiated by the DuoLife leaders who had put their trust in us. A few days after this event, I was called by Krzysztof Drabik – DuoLife Brand Ambassador, multiple Poland and Europe champion, winner of many juggling records. Meeting Krzysztof led to another incredible project – 100km juggle run from Meru to Nanyuki, to the Equator. This achievement was to commemorate the 100th anniversary of Poland regaining its independence. This amazing special action promoted another money collection campaign on the 15th December 2018 during the next Business Development Seminars in Częstochowa.
On the 13th December 2018 Piotr Pacyga had a meeting with Natasha Pavluchenko, a famous fashion designer who decided to join the Foundation and become the Member of the Board of the Foundation.
