Oasis of Happiness – ATTAN
On Saturday – 8th June 2019 early in the morning we set off towards Isiolo (50kms from Meru to the north) together with our two volunteers: Ola and Michalina.
After we had reacher Isiolo, we were hit by the heatwave of 30 centigrades. After a short break, we continued our journey to Attan (approx. 20km) where we visited the Divine Providence Boarding School for 30 exceptional children.
This school is run by the nuns from India. Unfortunately, since the beginning of the school (3 years ago), the children have not had any therapy. In the group of 30 children, 10 of them suffer from cerebral palsy.
And here our new adventure starts… We have come up with the idea of a new project called “Oases of happiness”.
In no time we have decided that we are going to visit them and provide them with therapy at least twice a month.
We know from the Pricinpal of the school that in their area, in the savannah, there are more children who need help. That is why, every first Wednesday we will be at this school helping the children and we will spend one of Saturdays – driving around the villages in order to help the exceptional children there.
Day by day, we are getting closer to making our dream come true – dream of reaching the children in the savannah.
In order to get to such places we need a better means of transport as the road conditions in the savannah are terrible.
That is why, we encourage you to support our project “Car for Care – Moving Therapy Project”
